Student Cave Projects: Reinventing Texts in User-Driven Non-Linear 3D

Here are some samples of student work remediating classic texts in 3D simulated environments. The idea is to explore critical theory by creating a reading experience which highlights theoretical aspects we are researching in each text. For example, in Queneau's Exercises in Style, we explored how allowing reader interaction control a text chagnes our conception of the relationship between narrative, style, and the authorial function (sometimes, at least in theory, something Queneau replaced with an S+7 an algorithm).

Calvino's Moriana from Invisible Cities

Virginia Woolf's Orlando
